I participate in a site that collects statistics on realms. (WarcraftRealms) Although not really ‘helpful,’ it’s interesting to see various stats about a particular server. The mod I use collects all sorts of information, from guilds, characters, levels, races, times played, last seen, activity ratios, etc. After the jump, I pulled some common data I look at for our realm…
Server-Wide (Farstriders Realm, RP)
- There are about 17,494 total characters on the server with 58% (10,203) being Alliance, 42% (7,291) being Horde.
- The top guild would be Heaven and Earth (Alliance) with 186 characters, Ex Cinis Cineris is in 14th place. (More on that in a few)
- For Alliance-Only, Ex Cinis Cineris is the 8th-largest, with about 127 characters. (As of today’s date.)
Being one of the founding members and all, I can remember when we
started with less than five members. Now, our guild is quite large, and
fairly-well recognized on the server. We’ve survived many challenges,
yet still manage to hold on to our reasons for forming
the guild in the first place. However interesting the data, it’s not
something our guild likes to brag about. (We aren’t out just for
numbers.)
The data is interesting to me though. I don’t really look at it on any particular/regular basis, but it’s kind of neat to see the rise/fall of some of the guilds, as well as seeing trends in characters/classes/levels. I also occasionally use the site to search for long-lost friends to see where they’ve gone. (If they are even still on the server at all for that matter.) Check it out sometime for yourself, or get the mod and start contributing to the data yourself.
