The issue has come up time and time again: Will World of Warcraft ever make its way onto the consoles? Again and again, the answer has been: NO, “Lack of hard drive space, and difficulty in certifying patches. Basically Just that… another problem is that they want a piece of the subscriptions (laughs).” This came from Rob Pardo, Executive VP of Design at Blizzard Entertainment. Is it really that complicated though? Read the rest of this entry »
So previously, I talked about the Blizzard Authenticator, and how I was a bit on the fence about it. After all, paying $6.50 for a thumb-drive-sized device that protects my account from being broken into? Shouldn’t Blizzard just give us these devices?! I mean, won’t these devices be cracked after a month or so anyways? Well, after a lot more research and reading, I found out that the truth is a lot more different than what I thought. Interesting rumor on WOW Insider this morning: Will death knights be arriving early in Azeroth? Indeed, DeathKnight.info has stated that it’s a possible announcement this weekend. Supposedly, if you pre-order the expansion, you’d get to play the new class earlier. There’s a few things that support this rumor:
You only need an existing level 55 toon to create a death knight.
It would be a good way for people to try out the class. (And possibly to prevent thousands of death knights from being created the day the expansion starts.)
Slightly newer content for those with no life a lot of time on their hands.
WoW Insider reports that a ‘Blizzard Authenticator‘ is going to be introduced at the Worldwide Invitational. Basically, it’s some kind of device that’s separate from your computer. Once you hook it into your account, you’ll press a button on the device to generate a six-digit code that’ll be required to log into the game. Ideally, this would provide not just a layer of security, but a wool blanket since, in theory, it would be very difficult indeed for someone to crack the codes. (Though, I’m sure it can and will be done at some point.) Read the rest of this entry »
OK, maybe it’s just me, but I’m terribly spoiled on emotes. In The Matrix Online, there were oodles of emotes. (And not just text on a screen. That’s almost cheating!) When I made my way to WoW, I was a bit disappointed in the variety of physical emotes. You would think for such a large roleplaying game, you’d be able to, you know, have a bit more emotes available. New dances are coming in Wrath, but something wonderful has been leaked from the alpha: New emotes! Read the rest of this entry »
So yesterday I talked about a guild for farming gold. (And, I can attest that one of the areas I tried did net me about 250 gold in total in an hour.) Of course, with the extra money I’ll be making, what to do with it? Kibibi has her epic flying mount now. I have my budding shammy that I could always power-level her professions or twink-out. But I have also been considering upgrading her bags. And, it just so happens that in the next patch, there will be a new, purchasable, huge 22-slot bag! But erm… is that bag Prada? I was a little leery of the title, “Kunzite’s Gold Guide: How I Made 100,000 Gold.” How many times have you seen advertisements for gold guides, only to find out they’re riddled with cheats/hacks/pay-for services and information? I saw this website recommended on WOW Insider though, so I thought I’d give it a quick read-through. You know what I found? There’s a lot of really good information in this guide to help you make gold quickly. Read the rest of this entry »
OK, so internet meme pictures aside, it’s not something I really thought about until recently. Now, our guild specifically states in our code of conduct that we won’t release personal information. To quote:
“ECC respects the privacy of our members. Your contact information is used for only that: contact and communications. We will not share your information with any other company, guild, or individual without contacting you first. You are also requested to not give out another member’s information without contacting/asking the person directly.”Read the rest of this entry »
Patch 2.3 brought many changes, like ‘glittering’ quest objects, exclamation points on your map, faster leveling, etc. In essence, Blizzard was telling us, “We want you to get to the higher-end content faster!” The next patch will bring us mounts at level 30, to make leveling even easier. That seems to be the trend lately, and I have to say I agree with it all the way. Read the rest of this entry »
