Recipe BOOK Linking In Wrath!

Posted by: Kibibi   in Game News, Wrath of the Lich King

There’s something new coming in Wrath, something I think will make people very happy: linking your entire recipe book. Yes, no longer will you have to say what you have. You can now link your entire book anywhere in chat, and have any player look through your list. It’s a nice change, and I know it will make a lot of people, especially in my guild, very happy.

Though, I think Blizzard should go further. I mean, if I can see anyone’s recipe book if they link it, why not be able to just look whenever you want. I’m picturing going to the social tab, going to your friends/guild list, clicking on a name and be able to see what all they can make. That would make it a lot easier, especially for guilds like ours, to find someone to make/augment something for us.

A big reason why our guild has a roster in the first place, is so we can see what everyone can make. If you can get that information in game, it means one less mod we have to have. (Well, in my mind, anyways.) So, I really like the direction Blizzard is going with a lot of their changes in Wrath. (And in this case, professions.) Every day, as more and more information comes out, I’m getting really excited about this next release!

These recipe lists can be a long and tedious thing to look through. I’m curious to see how they implement this without: A) creating a huge gui mess, B) keep this from crashing the networks (esp those poor souls on dialup), and C) update the lists in a timely manner. (Will it change when I learn something? Will it broadcast a request for my recipe book? Will there be a system where someone searches for an enchantment and the game tells them everyone in 200yards that can make it?)

Besides, aren’t we supposed to be able to put ‘chants on the AH?
