Oh, how time flies sometimes! One minute our guild is cautiously exploring Karazhan, the next we’re working on two teams in one week. (With a few bumps along the way.) Last night, our guild had another first: Zul’Aman. Though of course, the team didn’t quite get the third boss down, but the fact that they went in as (almost) total n00bs and still managed to get as far as they did amazes me!

Hats-Off to Daynar, Laurowene, Vicsalve, Grimwold, Anarche, Cantara, Ronzily, Rhyer and Felidae! From what I heard, you guys (and gals) did a wonderful job working together! Special congratulations to our wonderful Raid Officer Celetaman (Kryjiana), for tireless leading all of us to new content! I doubt we’d even get there without your guidance!

So, you’ve just hit 70. After long-last, you’ve maxed out your level. You’re just chomping at the bit to get into heroics, and start your progressing all the way to Sunwell Plateau. The only thing stopping you (besides rep in many cases)? Gear, that’s what! You’ll quickly learn that you can’t just jump into Zul’Aman with any ordinary gear you’ve snagged from quests. ECC is not a full-time raiding guild by any means, but we do run Kara instances once a week. We’ve cleared out the instance a few times, and we have plenty of DPS, but we’re currently short on healers/tanks. At this time, we’re often limited to just one group a week. If we had more healers and tanks, we could run more than one group and/or progress to new content. So, if you’re looking for a friendly/casual guild that also likes to raid on the side, take a gander at the recruitment section on our forums. (We’d love to have you!)

I read THIS article on WoW Insider last week, and really made me think about how our guild is just starting to raid. (Like Kara.) I think we’re pretty structured, but mostly out of necessity. A lot of us have schedules that, for one reason or another, make it a bit more challenging to make sure a raid happens at a specific time. I know for me personally, it would be hard for me to just jump into the game and be asked to join a Kara raid. Add that to the fact that we don’t yet have enough people that are prepared for Kara, and you get to the point of having to plan. Read the rest of this entry »
